Gift to Pope Benedict XVI
from Gordon Brown
British Premier Gordon Brown, who helped pioneer the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm), visited Pope Benedict XVI to commemorate the Vatican’s purchase of the first vaccine bond in 2006.
IFFIm is expected to provide US$4 billion to protect 500 million children in over 70 countries from deadly diseases.
